I've always been a really active guy since I was a kid, it's in my blood. My Dad used to be a professional soccer player and I always tried to follow his career and see him as an example, he is, and will always be my hero because he always taught me a lot of things about training and discipline and that’s something that I would never change. I played soccer for twenty one years and ran a bunch of half marathons, marathons and duathlons on the side. For good I decided to quit playing soccer, just to stay away from injuries, I was 25 years old when I decided to start training for a triathlon, I felt that I needed a good challenge but it had to be something different and something that not too many people do so…
The first year I competed in only one event which was an Olympic distance and I swear that I didn’t know what I was doing haha, I did the bike ride with a 1967 Motobecane road bike, and I barely could handle the swimming part since I always swam recreational and not competitively, the running part was the best but still all combined, it was a disaster! After that I just kept training hard and 2009 finally paid off, I got to be three times on the podium and I am going for more in 2010.
My biggest dream is to qualify to go to Kona HI. I know it is really hard but not impossible, at least I’ll die trying hehe.. Thanks KBA!!
